Employee Lactation Rooms

Returning to work after having a baby represents a transition for any parent. Mass General Brigham sponsors the Lactation Resources, a program to help employees make the transition back onsite from maternity leave. The program provides the opportunity to continue breastfeeding while at work. MGB’s Lactation Policy, which provides support and guidance for managers and employees, including details on paid breaks, can be found here.

We are fortunate to be able to offer efficient electric Medela Breast Pumps in our comfortable, private lactation rooms accessible just by the lactating employee. Medela Symphony Pump Instruction Manual is available here.

EAP Run Lactation Rooms Access

For Rooms run by the EAP please pre-register using the Employee Lactation Room Access Request Form.

Studies show that breastfeeding reduces health care costs, and also reduces the amount of time new parents miss from work. This 60 minute presentation will provide expectant and nursing employees with information on how to maintain breastfeeding when returning to work. Topics will include choosing a breast pump, storing breast milk, and employee lactation services.
