April is National Humor Month!
Seemingly endless winter and taxes are not the only reasons we need to celebrate National Humor Month (NHM) in April. The wisdom of the ages has sanctioned frivolity on the first of the month since the 1500’s. NHM was founded 40 years ago to heighten public awareness on the joy and therapeutic value of laughter. Serious research findings prove laughing more can improve health, communication skills, morale, teamwork, alertness, coping, and even longevity. It’s not foolish to have fun if your jokes don’t offend.
Perhaps you already start your meetings with a joke or keep a file of favorite videos, cartoons, or one- liners for your own stress breaks. Here is more about the benefits of laughter:
