Resources for Families and Workers Affected by the Government Shutdown
Many thousands of families across the United States have been negatively impacted financially by the more than month-long federal government shutdown. If you or a loved one has been affected by the furlough of federal employees, help is available.
United Way’s Program 211 has compiled information on financial relief and support from companies related to the government shutdown. Mass 211 is ready to help workers and families with information on local services that offer financial, food, and housing assistance amongst other resources.
There are a number of food pantries located throughout Massachusetts. This website has information about pantries listed by town.
The MSPCA is offering help by giving away free pet food and cat litter to workers affected by the shutdown. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for needs your family may have.
