Elder Care Monthly Discussion Group
Caring for an aging loved one can be challenging on many levels. Trying to understand the diverse needs and resources specific to this population can be overwhelming and stressful when you are doing it alone.
Please join us for a monthly meeting to discuss subjects including: care coordination, family issues associated with caring for an elder adult, legal, estate and medical issues, grieving loss, and most importantly, caring for oneself in the midst of it all.
Facilitated by Janet T. Loughlin, LICSW, CEAP-Partners Employee Assistance Program  and Barbara Moscowitz, LICSW- MGH Geriatric Social Worker

This 30 minute lively webinar will offer breathing techniques, gentle stretches, and affirmations to relax, build proper body alignment and awareness, focus the mind, and nourish and restore your balance. Although movement exercises are designed for people who work, try to wear clothing that does not constrict the waist and shoes that can be slipped off or are comfortable to walk in. All attire is welcome.

New and Expectant Parents:  Choosing Childcare (In-person)
Partners Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Partners Child Care Services are offering a 60 minute educational round table discussion for those new to parenting and child care.  Partners EAP will explore childcare options, costs, and how to find and evaluate care.  Partners Child Care Services will talk about internal resources for center care and back up care.  A disussion will follow during which the group can ask questions and share their experiences.

Working and Breastfeeding  (In-person)
Studies show that breastfeeding reduces health care costs, and also reduces the amount of time new parents miss from work. This 60 minute presentation will provide expectant and nursing employees with information on how to maintain breastfeeding when returning to work. Topics will include choosing a breast pump, storing breast milk, and employee lactation services.

Ten-Hour First Time Home Buyers Course (In-person)
This free ten-hour, first-time home buyers course if for those interested in buying their first home. Upon completing all ten hours and all four sessions, participants become eligible to receive a certificate that may help them qualify for a first-time home buyer mortgage, and may help them with down payment and closing costs. The course covers the home-buying process and includes presentations by a home inspector, loan officer, attorney, insurance agent and real estate broker. There is no cost to attend but registration is required.

Getting Your Best Sleep Webinar
Good sleep is critical for all of our daytime activities and well being, including our ability to concentrate and to learn, as well as to maintain good health. Participants will learn about the two processes that control when and how much we sleep: the sleep drive and the circadian rhythms, and the impact disrupting these key biological processes can have on sleep and one’s day-to-day activities. This webinar will also describe the most common disorders of sleep, the symptoms that are present in these disorders, and the approaches one can take to address them.  Finally, we will discuss valuable and practical tips and strategies that participants can apply to get quality, restful sleep and stay alert.

Using the EAP Strategically: For HR Business Partners
In this 60 minute webinar HR Business Partners will learn to collaborate with managers and employees in making effective referrals to EAP to support distressed employees.  Distressed employees experiencing personal issues including depression family issues as well as domestic violence at times will have trouble on the job and HR can support them and their managers in resolving the concerns. Learn how to best collaborate on EAP referrals, support effective supervisor interventions and encourage employees to address and resolve issues that can interfere with job performance.
