MEMA and the American Red Cross, working collaboratively with local officials, will coordinate the regional RRC to support disaster survivors from Lawrence, Andover, and North Andover. The RRC will be staffed by representatives of the American Red Cross and Salvation Army, and disaster relief organizations. State agencies providing support to impacted residents include the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA), Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), Department of Children and Families (DCF), Department of Mental Health (DMH), Registry of Motor Vehicles, and Division of Insurance (DOI).

  YMCA in Lawrence (40 Lawrence Street, Lawrence, MA 01840 – closes 10 pm); Andover (165 Haverhill Street, Andover, MA 01810 – closes 10 pm).  During the Merrimack Valley gas shut off crisis, Partners HealthCare employees can shower at this health club; need to show Partners ID:

Small Business Assistance:  Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) has activated its Emergency Loan fund to assist small business that may be impacted by the gas explosions in the Merrimack Valley with emergency loan funds from $5,000.00 to $10,000.00.

New hours: Donations can be picked up by those impacted between the hours of 11am – 2pm. Donations can be dropped off between the hours of 3-6pm.

Supplies Needed at Lawrence Senior Center:

The greatest need right now is for gift cards to local stores such as: Market Basket, Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Stop & Shop. In addition, canned or microwaveable food (tuna fish, Chef Boyardee, noodles, soups) is needed too.

Things needed in less quantity include: Baby washes and lotions, Soy or Alumentum formula, Pedialyte, Pediasure, First Aid items, Laundry soap, Clorox Wipes, Underwear for men, women and children, Blankets, Towels, Tampons and Feminine Products.

Supplies NOT Needed at Lawrence Senior Center: Toiletries, bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste or granola bars.
